Get your social media groove on this March with a Meet the Maker challenge
If you’re a small business today, you’ve probably devoted a fair bit of time worrying about your social media presence. Recently, I interviewed a few business owners about their social media and found common struggles like Eva’s:
“It seems there's an awful lot of effort and energy going into [posting]. Just taking the pictures and then editing them and thinking what to say with the images. And then thinking about when you put it out and where …. the ratio of effort to outcome is horrendous!”
At Harland Works I’ve established an informal ‘Social Fridays’ meet up where a few of us get together to talk about what we’re planning to post and give each other a hand with friendly encouragement or technical advice on how to get our social media working for our businesses.
Based on what we’ve been learning I’ve been putting together a mini-introductory course to offer as a resource to tenants who want to build their confidence on social media. (Sign up page here )
But this month, it looks like our efforts are going to be ratcheted up a notch! Louise of @sincerelylouse has challenged us to take part in the #Marchmeettthemaker challenge run by the very talented Joanne Hawker.
Challenges are a great way to help you put a bit of extra effort into developing your social media voice .. so quite a few of us have signed up to have a go. Quite how many of us manage to stay the course is another matter entirely!
Joanne offers lots of tips and helpful ideas, as well as a handy planner and a community on facebook if you fancy having a go. Please do … and tag @harlandworkshq on instagram if you do so we can cheer you on!
