Summer In Our Inner-city Courtyard
We've been enjoying more lovely weather in the courtyard which has been busy hosting frame photo shoots, staff training exercises and cocktail testing... among other things. We have a very special evening coming up on the 7th of July (7th of the 7th) to celebrate two fine Sheffield poets. With all that's going on it's lovely to have that to look forward to PLUS today is international yoga day today. NEWS
Summer in the city
A team from South Yorkshire Housing Association hit it lucky on Monday when their team training day coincided with beautiful sunshine in the courtyard - so they took full advantage and held a lot of their training outside. We tried our best to keep their sugar levels up through the day :) Takes a lot of energy, being trained!
Celebrate International Yoga Day
As well as the summer solstice, 21 June is International Yoga day apparently. Zagyoga celebrate yoga throughout the year and Monica's instagram posts are a lovely insight into the practice of yoga. This week she was also celebrating summer and her lovely, light filled studio: "Our lovely studio is shining. It really makes a difference where yoga is practiced. Ours is a conducive, light, bright and spacious space".
They have 4 more weeks of classes before they move into their reduced timetable for the summer so still time to join and get a boost. Details of classes on their website here, which also include some student testimonials.
Eyeye Opticians
Like Zagyoga, our tenants Eyeye Opticians post regularly on instagram, often sharing pictures of frames of the day which have been taken 'in the wild' in the courtyard.
They've also been asking customers to share pictures of themselves out and about in their Eyeye frames - in return for a complimentary coffee in the cafe. So, if you're an Eyeye customer and you take a picture next time you're in, we can gift you your coffee courtesy of Eyeye We haven't seen Wally yet though. He's probably hiding somewhere hard-to-find in the courtyard I'd guess?
Unit to Let
We have a light filled, first floor unit to let, which is ideal for 1 to 3 people. It has lovely neighbours and a small kitchen shared with a very few folk who all seem to know how to wash up! And sometimes share delicious cake from very smart Grazeboxes. More details of the unit here ... and the grazeboxes here!

Friday Jazz - Friday 1 July
We have Friday Jazz coming soon - it's free, but it's a good idea to get here early if you want to sit down :). It runs from 12.30 to 2.30 pm.
Cocktail Research for the Poetry Book launch
We take our events very seriously, and for the launch of two new Sheffield-Poets books we are serving bespoke cocktails. Which involved a bit of research. I can't reveal too much (you need a ticket to enjoy the full details) but one cocktail alchemizes from red to pink, and the other from pink to black. I can't take any of the credit for the recipes as these came from the poets (Helen Mort and Suzannah Evans) themselves, but I was fully engaged in the testing of them and can therefore definitely vouch for them.
Book a ticket to come and celebrate with us, as Sheffield launches two new poetry books into the world.
