We love hosting Nine Lives Poetry. Their mission is to bring some of the UK's most exciting performance poets to a Sheffield audience and to create opportunities for budding Sheffield poets to take the next step in their poetry career. They want to support emerging local poets to hone their skills in a friendly and encouraging space.
This month they’ve poets Stephen James Smith and Lily Luty performing.
Stephen James Smith is an Irish poet, whose work has been seen by millions of people. Stephen has opened for Kae Tempest and supported John Cooper Clarke. He has performed with people like Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Patti Smith and Bono (U2) and at Glastonbury, the Nuyorican Poetry Café in New York, the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris and many more places in between.

Lily Luty is a spoken word artist and slam champion from West Yorkshire. They write about mental health, queer identity and unravelling existing social structures. Their work has been described as vivid and vulnerable spoken word which ‘both punched me in the gut and gave me a cuddle.’
